books...check em out!

My favorite Christmas gift that I have received (as an adult) is, hands down, The Power of Style - The Women Who Defined the Art of Living Well.  It was a gift from my parents my sophomore year of college, shortly after deciding to be a fashion major.  I have read it cover to cover a few times & find myself thumbing through it often.  As a college student I'm sure my Christmas List that year was filled with designer jeans, shoes, sweaters etc.... many years later I can't remember what else I received that Christmas but this book still sits on my coffee table & I love it as much today as I did then.

Since then I have given many books as gifts
Last year I got Bob the book, Journeys of a Lifetime: 500 of the Worlds Greatest Trips.  Its a wonderful book with amazing photography that will make you want to take vacations to places you never would have thought of! Just thinking of it makes me want to pack my bags and head out of town...

This year I decided to get books for all of the kids.  While on a whirlwind shopping spree in Cincinnati with my sisters, we found the cutest bookstore.  The Blue Manatee is a children's bookstore in Hyde Park that is positively adorable!
The first book I saw when I walked in was
Fancy Nancy and the Fabulous Fashion Boutique.  Obviously, this was the book that I had to get for the little girls! I LOVE this book!

For the boys I chose A Pirates Night Before Christmas.   It's a cute book with vibrant illustrations - I hope it will be enough to hold the attention of some very active toddlers!

I also have a few books on my wish list this year

Fabulous animal inspired designs styled by my favorite fashion duo Dolce & Gabbana... I love it!

Still so sad that Domino magazine is no longer in print:( but this book on my coffee table could make it all better!

I have a feeling this could be the official handbook for all things glamorous.

Also on my never ending wish list - a few things book related

I spotted this set of owl bookends while checking out the other day - I think they should have a home on my book shelf.

I found this picture on Elements of Style and fell in love.
I think the 8x10 would be perfect for my office.
